REL Midwest, in collaboration with the Great Lakes East Comprehensive Center and the Great Lakes West Comprehensive Center, is sponsoring this event to provide district teams of 4 to 6 people (principals, teachers, district instructional/assessment lead) from the across the region with the opportunity to examine the practice of research-based formative assessment. The event will integrate video illustrations and formative assessment resources with activities to promote deeper understanding about what research-based formative assessment practice looks like and how to support its use in classrooms. Featured speakers are Margaret Heritage, assistant director, National Center for Research on Evaluation, Standards, and Student Testing; W. James Popham, Ed.D., professor emeritus, University of California at Los Angeles’s Graduate School of Education and Information Studies; and James W. Pellegrino, Ph.D., codirector, University of Illinois at Chicago’s interdisciplinary Learning Sciences Research Institute.
To register for this event, please complete and submit this online registration form for each member of the district team planning to attend the event no later than Tuesday, November 29, 2011 (each member of the district team must register individually). Space is limited. There is no registration fee.
